Fulfill The Dream, Beloit
Fulfill The Dream Beloit has been in existence since the Fall of 2009. Implemented in two high schools in this city, it was part of a major grant to help spark the genius of non-traditional learners. The program took a couple dozen youth labeled “at-risk” and helped them to develop healthy identities and powerful voices through the arts. Classroom curriculum was supplemented with youth working after school with local adult artists in the areas of dance, production, poetry, drama, and rap. The culminating project for the youth was a city wide event that brought together parents, educators, businessmen, and funders. Youth demonstrated that they were powerful and caring citizens capable of making positive contributions to their communities.
Students in Beloit Fresh Start, one of the two alternative high schools, saw their first 100% graduation of the entire class. The program has continued and is still being used today.

Nahume Diaz is a young man that transformed his life after going through the Fulfill The Dream program. He is now a community leader who works to create change by helping other youth find their voice and use them to offer solutions to community issues. We made a music video with a filmmaker from Disney to capture the change this young man is having in the world. Enjoy this song entitled "The Light"!
